Irvine : Bicyclist Critical After Hit-and-Run Incident

An Irvine bicyclist was in critical condition Saturday after being struck by a hit-and-run motorist on Irvine Center Drive near the gate to Lion Country Safari, Irvine police said.

The unidentified victim was taken to Mission Community Hospital after he was struck by a 1982 to 1986 white Camaro driven by a male motorist, police said. The accident occurred about 6:15 a.m.

Police are seeking help from the public to find the car, which they said probably has a damaged front bumper and fender, a possible broken windshield and red paint on the front.
