Crespi Goes for Fourth Straight Victory Tonight
Crespi High, the surprise team of the 1985 high school football season, will try for its fourth consecutive victory Saturday night.
The Celts will be after their third straight shutout of the season when they play St. Genevieve (2-1) in a 7:30 p.m. nonleague game at Birmingham High.
Should Crespi win, its game next Friday night against Canyon (4-0) at Birmingham would be a battle of undefeated teams.
In other action Saturday night, intra-city rivals Royal (0-3) and Simi Valley (2-1) will fighting for neighborhood bragging rights. The Marmonte League opener for both teams will start at 7:30 at Simi Valley.
Alpha League action will also get underway this week. L.A. Baptist (0-3) will play Montclair Prep (1-2) at College of the Canyons, L.A. Lutheran (0-3) will play at Marshall (0-3), and Village Christian (1-2) will play host to Western Christian (2-1). All games are at 7:30 p.m.
In the only afternoon game Saturday, a vastly improved Agoura (2-1) team will visit Harvard (0-3) for a nonleague game at 2:30 p.m.
