Lee Won Kyung, South Korean foreign minister, said it might be possible for North Korea to hold one or two events in the 1988 Olympic Games, under the control of the Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee.
He ruled out the idea of the Koreas being co-hosts, which North Korea is expected to propose at a meeting next week of the International Olympic Committee at Lausanne, Switzerland.
But he said: “In case they (the North Koreans) make a very sincere approach, it may be possible that we may let them take one or two events, under the control of the Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee.”
