Baby Car Seats
Thank you, California for having a state law for the enforcement of baby car seats.
Our granddaughter, Alanna Krause Inman, her husband, Phil and daughter, 8-month-old Krista, were traveling from California to their new home in Panama City, Fla., in a new car and pulling a small trailer, when it fishtailed and turned over twice in a small town of 500 in Balmorrhea, Tex.
Alanna became panicky when she couldn’t find the baby. The baby was hanging upside down, buckled up very tight in her car seat.
The sheriff said the baby didn’t even cry.
I called the sheriff and he said, “Ma’am, if you could see this car, you’d wonder how any of them are here to talk about it.” He also said, “If they weren’t all buckled up in their seat belts like they were, it would be a different story.”
The car was totaled; no one was hurt. It was a Labor Day weekend and our Grandparents Day came a week early.
