Chapman Women Win UCSD Volleyball
The Chapman women’s volleyball team (7-1) won the UC San Diego Classic tournament Saturday, beating Fresno Pacific College, 15-10, 7-15, 15-9. The Panthers beat Indiana-Purdue at Indianapolis University, 15-2, 15-9, earlier in the day to advance to the final match.
Two Panthers were named to the all-tournament team. Outside hitter Brenda Read was named the Most Valuable Player and setter Mary Cahill was also an all-tournament selection. Next week Chapman travels to the Brigham Young Invitational, which opens Thursday.
