Ramona
One person was killed and six others were injured in a head-on collision Saturday in Ramona. The accident occurred about 3 p.m. on the westbound side of California 78, east of Old Julian Highway.
According to a California Highway Patrol spokesman, an eastbound car driven by James Cregg, 33, of Spring Valley drifted over the median and collided with a car driven by Sandra Black, 39, of Oceanside, who sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Pomerado Hospital. Ruth Bounds, 88, of Oceanside, who was a passenger in the Black car, was fatally injured.
Also injured in the Black car were Raymond Hall, 15, who was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Children’s Hospital, and Brandi-Lin Hall, 17, who was taken to Pomerado Hospital. Dianna Cregg, 7 and Rachael Cregg, 5, were riding in the Cregg car and were taken to Children’s Hospital.
