A Rhode Island judge ordered 600 striking teachers to go back to work today, but a union attorney predicted that teachers would ignore the order. Meanwhile, the Flint, Mich., school board filed suit seeking to force teachers back to the classroom. Walkouts elsewhere by 7,400 teachers continued in Seattle, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and New York, keeping 107,000 students out of school.
