Remington Arms to lay off at least 400 workers.
The company said that the layoffs will occur at its Herkimer County, N.Y., plant by the end of the month and that the number of workers dismissed may go higher. The company also announced a four-day work week. Company officials blame a slowdown in the retail market for guns for the layoffs.
