Ortho Pharmaceutical pulled out of a space project.
Ortho and McDonnell Douglas had been jointly developing a pharmaceutical product that was to be manufactured in space. McDonnell Douglas announced Ortho’s withdrawal from the project without any explanation. It said it is discussing a potential partnership with other firms to develop, test and market a pharmaceutical product, which it has never identified. McDonnell Douglas also said it will continue to work with Ortho on other space manufacturing projects.
