Edison Is No. 1 in Football Poll

Edison High School, which lost three games by a total of three points last year, is the top-ranked team in the opening Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep football poll.
The Chargers gained six first-place votes to edge Servite for the top spot. Servite gathered four, first-place votes in the balloting.
In the featured game of the week, Edison plays host to third-ranked El Modena on Friday night at LeBard Stadium in Costa Mesa. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
