Fire Crew Finds Body in Angeles Forest
A Los Angeles County fire crew has found a badly decomposed body in Angeles National Forest east of Newhall, authorities said.
A spokesman for county Fire Department Camp 29 said a crew found the body at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday on Sand Canyon Road, about a mile south of Live Oak Campground.
Jim Jones, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said the partly dismembered body had apparently been dragged onto the road by scavenging animals.
Jones said investigators had not determined the dead adult’s sex or age, nor were the cause, time or location of the death known.
