A 17-year-old boy armed with a knife robbed five customers at a Burbank laundry Friday night, but was apprehended by officers using a police dog, Burbank police said.
The youth, whose name was not released, fled through the front door of Econo Wash, 3425 Victory Blvd., as police arrived at 6:30 p.m., a police spokeswoman said.
The boy was caught after the German shepherd chased him and bit him on the leg, Sgt. C. T. Welker said.
The youth was taken to Burbank Community Hospital for treatment, but was expected to be transferred late Friday night to Sylmar Juvenile Hall, Welker said.
