Charles Luckman, founder of the Luckman Partnership in Los Angeles, has been awarded the Illinois Medal in Architecture from the School of Architecture of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
The award is given to a distinguished alumnus “in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding achievement and service to the profession of architecture,” and consists of a piece of sculture individually designed by Robert Youngman.
The Illinois Medal of Architecture has previously been awarded only once, jointly to George Fred Keck and William Keck, in 1981.
