Film Thief Sentenced

A former film librarian has been sentenced to three years on probation after pleading no contest to one count of theft in a case involving the 1983 recovery of hundreds of stolen motion pictures and cartoons from a Burbank storage facility.
Merle Ray Harlin, 60, of the Silver Lake area had initially been charged with three counts each of theft, theft of lost property and receiving stolen property.
