Capt. Doug McClure has taken command of the Sheriff’s Department’s Temple Station. McClure replaces Capt. James Callas, who has been placed in charge of recruit training.
McClure, 42, is a 20-year veteran of the department. He had run the personnel bureau for three years before to his transfer, which he said was part of a normal rotation of command. Previously, he has worked at the County Jail, on patrol duty at the Norwalk, Lennox and San Dimas stations and as a detective. McClure holds a bachelor’s degree in police science from California State University, Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in public administration from USC.
Temple Station serves Temple City, Rosemead, Duarte, Bradbury, South El Monte and South San Gabriel.
