SAN DIEGO — Less than 24 hours after a group of San Diego State boosters spoke enthusiastically about their meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. today, the meeting was canceled. The boosters had called an unofficial meeting at the Sports Arena TraveLodge to discuss what is going on with the SDSU athletic department.
“The people who wanted to have it decided there was no need for it,” said booster Gil Frank late Tuesday afternoon. “The meeting is not going to happen at this time.”
Frank said there was no pressure put on the boosters to cancel the meeting.
“Maybe people were beginning to realize they could not really do much if they didn’t know a lot,” booster Tom Ables said. “As far as I’m concerned, that’s good news. I don’t think they could have accomplished much.”
