Shaw Named Baseball Coach at University

Bryan Shaw has been named head baseball coach at University High School, replacing Dan Daniels.
Shaw said the job was offered to him several weeks ago, and he accepted it last week. After being assistant coach last year to Daniels and Eddie Allen, he was promoted to the head position because the school wanted a coach who would be on campus full-time, he said.
Allen, who is an attorney, left in the middle of last season to try a case in Hawaii. Daniels, a real estate agent, coached the team for the remainder of the season.
Shaw also is an assistant football coach at the school and was an assistant football coach at Stanford for three years.
Allen will be an assistant baseball coach next season and Daniels may also help with the team, Shaw said. The Trojans finished last season with a record of 14-6, won the Sea View League championship and reached the second round of the Southern Section 2-A playoffs.
