A federal judge in San Francisco ruled that Buddhists Concerned for Animals Inc. does not have legal standing to sue the University of California over alleged mistreatment of research animals. The group said it filed the suit because the animals cannot act on their own behalf, but a spokesman for the university said the charges were outdated because a “concerted effort” has been made over the last year to improve conditions.
