Sheriff’s homicide detectives were awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine whether a 69-year-old woman’s death could have been caused by being slapped in the face during a dispute with another resident of a Paramount retirement home over possession of a portable radio. Sheriff’s information officers said Jean Temple fell after she was slapped in the face several times by Mable Stringer, 79. She was taken from the Marvilla Guest Home to a hospital for treatment of a leg injury. She died at the hospital. No arrest was made and no charges have been filed.
