Travelers Corp. said its second-quarter profit fell 17.4% from a year earlier as revenue climbed 5%. The insurance and financial-services concern noted that it realized a $100,000 loss from its investments, compared to a year earlier when it realized investment gains totaling $18.3 million. In the latest quarter, Travelers said its casualty-property insurance business suffered a $3.8-million loss, compared with earnings of $3.2 million a year earlier.
