Doubt over whether attorney Oscar Goodman will represent San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock at his second felony trial apparently was eliminated when a federal judge in Las Vegas told Goodman that he would not require him to be present for a racketeering trial. U.S. District Judge Lloyd George told Goodman that if Hedgecock’s case begins next Wednesday--a date set Monday by a San Diego judge--he probably will postpone the Nevada case, scheduled to begin Aug. 5. A defendant in the Nevada case is Goodman’s client.
