2 Airlines Won’t Carry AIDS Victims

SYDNEY, Australia — The two main domestic airlines in Australia said today that they will refuse to carry passengers known to be suffering from AIDS.
Trans Australia and Ansett airlines said the ban will remain in place until policies for handling AIDS victims are developed within the aviation industry. Ansett refused last week to carry a prisoner with AIDS from Adelaide to Darwin to serve out a jail sentence.
