Airliner Hits Two Deer on Runway, Lands Safely

WASHINGTON — A New York Air DC-9 jetliner bound for New Orleans struck and killed two deer at Dulles International Airport but managed to land safely, despite a flat tire and a damaged wing flap, authorities said. None of the 37 persons on Flight 141 were injured in the incident Sunday night.
