Prince Mohammed on Fight Card at the Forum
Prince Mohammed, the World Boxing Council’s No. 2-ranked cruiserweight, and J.B. Williamson, the World Boxing Assn.’s No. 3-ranked light heavyweight, will be the featured boxers tonight at the Forum.
Mohammed, who has a 31-1-2 record, is a prince from the Dagumba tribe in Ghana, Africa. He will meet Chris Schwenke of Salt Lake City in a 10-round bout. Schwenke, who has a record of 18-5-2, is the United States Boxing Assn.’s 13th-ranked cruiserweight.
Williamson (20-1) of Los Angeles will fight Jimmy Bills (12-3-2) of Vallejo, Calif., in a 10-round bout.
In other bouts, Grover Robinson (28-12) of Salt Lake City will face LaMont Kirkland (26-1) of Omaha, Neb. All of Kirkland’s victories have been by knockout.
At the Irvine Marriott Hotel tonight, Sean Mannion of Dorchester, Mass., currently ranked by the WBC as the No. 8 junior middleweight contender, will fight Bert Lee of Anaheim in the featured bout.
