A fire on Main Street in the Gold Rush village of Jamestown destroyed a two-story market, heavily damaged an adjacent frame building and briefly threatened much of the community’s historic business district before firefighters brought it under control. Two people working at the East Sonora Market and a Sonora firefighter suffered minor injuries, said Don Miller of the California Department of Forestry.
