The Return of ‘Original Coke’
All day long the news on radio and TV reported on the Great Cola War and the capitulation of Coca-Cola to their loyal fans.
There were struggles in South Africa, terrorists in Kuwait, bombs, the threat of nuclear capability in Pakistan, forest fires in several states, 25% inflation in Israel, the ship Greenpeace blown up--but the real news, the big news, reported over and over--the Coke Classic and the Coke with NutraSweet.
Who in the real world cares? Who decided that that nonsense was news? Who handed the airways to the beverage makers for millions of dollars worth of free advertising?
