Ghanian Spy Suspect Ordered Held Without Bail

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A federal magistrate Friday found probable cause to hold a Ghanian citizen, Michael Agbotui Soussoudis, without bail on spy charges.
Soussoudis was arrested July 10 at a motel in the Virginia suburbs of Washington and was charged with conspiracy to commit espionage. The charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Sharon M. Scranage, 29, also charged with conspiracy to commit espionage, was released on bail to the custody of her parents by U.S. Magistrate W. Harris Grimsley.
