Soviet Metalworker Executed for Murder

MOSCOW — A metalworker has been executed for knifing to death a colleague after a drinking bout at a factory near Moscow, the public prosecutor said in an interview published Friday by the weekly Nedelya.
He said the death sentence against Georgy Mukin had been carried out recently, but did not say when. Executions are normally carried out by firing squad in the Soviet Union.
