NEWSCASTER SEEKS JOB, WITH OR WITHOUT SUDS

Christine Craft, the ex-anchorwoman whose 1984 court victory against Kansas City’s KMBC-TV (for sex discrimination and fraud) recently was overturned on appeal, says she’s now looking for a TV news job. And though it may not be in her resume, her anchoring credits include reading make-believe news on the daytime soap “Santa Barbara.”
Craft, who went on the lecture circuit to support herself during her long, much-publicized lawsuit, read the “news” four times on the series. She says she wouldn’t mind doing it again, either--because it was a respite from her real-life troubles. Said Craft: “It’s dreary being a Joan of Arc.”
