Observations on Drunk Driving

Upon reading two articles on May 30, I sat in astonished thought, as I had done many times previously, on our unjustified, unbalanced judicial system.
One article by Stephen Bloom told of a drunk driver’s killing of an innocent young person and getting only one year in jail. The other article dealt with a problem that has finally surfaced for public knowledge: sexual abuse of children. In the molestation article this gross offender got 12 years in jail.
One year for killing, 12 years for molesting. Where is the balance of justice? I am not saying that the molester should receive less time in jail, because 12 years is not enough time, but rather that the killer should receive more.
