LOS ANGELES COUNTY - News from July 4, 1985

Beverly Hills Hotel Corp. named Adalberto M. (Al) Stratta president and chief executive, succeeding Burton Slatkin, who was named chairman.

Stratta, 49, joined the closely held company in March as executive vice president after more than two decades in the hotel business, most recently as president of Princess Hotels International. As chief executive, he will be involved solely in Beverly Hills Hotel operations, a spokesman said.

Beverly Hills Hotel Corp. is controlled by risk arbitrageur Ivan F. Boesky, Slatkin’s brother-in-law. The company, in turn, holds a controlling interest in Northview Corp. (formerly Vagabond Hotels), a hotel, merchant banking and investment firm that has played a key role in Boesky’s arbitrage activities.

First Interstate Bank of California, Los Angeles, named Jurgen H. Lindemann, currently manager of foreign exchange and treasury for Europe, Middle East and Africa, as senior vice president in its London office.

Los Angeles-based Prisma Corp., a sportswear manufacturer, named Arun Kochhar vice president-operations and production, a new position.

James P. Ryan was named to the newly created position of vice president-sales in Invacare Corp.’s respiratory division in Long Beach.

The W. M. Keck Foundation, Los Angeles, named Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge David A. Thomas and John E. Kolb, a partner in the Houston law firm of Vinson & Elkins, as members and directors.

Mark L. Wright has been elected president of Executive Savings & Loan Assn., Marina del Rey.

CALIFORNIA

Sunnyvale-based Signetics Corp. named Norman A. Neumann president and chief executive. He had been acting chief since the retirement of Charles Harwood in April. Signetics, a major manufacturer of integrated circuits, is a unit of U.S. Philips Corp.

Richard S. Henderson was appointed vice president-sales at GTE Sprint, Burlingame.

Fortune Systems Corp., an office-computer maker based in Belmont, named Vice President William B. Binch to head a new sales structure. Reporting to him are Bert Lucas, vice president-sales and Richard B. Siegel, vice president-marketing.

NATION

Sun Co., Radnor, Pa., elected Robert McClements Jr. chief executive, succeeding Theodore Burtis, 63, who will remain chairman of the nation’s 10th-largest oil company.

McClements, 56, will retain the titles of president and chief operating officer, which he has held since June, 1981.
