Moon to Be Released From Prison Thursday

DANBURY, Conn. — The Rev. Sun Myung Moon, leader of the Unification Church, will be released from Danbury Federal Prison Thursday, officials said Tuesday.
Moon was convicted in 1982 of failing to report $162,000 in income on his federal tax returns. He had remained free until his appeals were exhausted and was ordered to prison after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear his case in May, 1984.
Moon will be sent to a halfway house in New York City for 45 days before his final release, officials said.
