Soviet A-Test Indicated

WASHINGTON — The United States has picked up signals that the Soviet Union set off an underground nuclear test explosion last weekend, the Department of Energy said Tuesday. The department, which monitors nuclear tests worldwide, said the U.S. atomic energy detection system picked up seismic signals late Saturday from what presumably was the fourth Soviet underground nuclear test this year.
