TOCCO TO REPLACE VERED AT BOWL
Pianist James Tocco will replace Ilana Vered as soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Hollywood Bowl on Friday and Saturday. Vered recently sustained a hand injury, according to a spokesman for the orchestra.
On Friday, Tocco will play, as scheduled, Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” with Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting. At the Saturday Beethoven program, also unchanged, Tocco will join with Philharmonic players Alexander Treger and Daniel Rothmuller in a performance of the Triple Concerto, again with Salonen on the podium.
