Fighter Jet, Plane Collide on Runway; 1 Dies, 2 Hurt

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A fighter jet collided with a small plane and burst into flames at Birmingham Municipal Airport, killing one civilian man and slightly injuring two Alabama Air National Guardsmen, authorities said Friday.
The jet apparently was attempting an emergency landing when it crashed into a twin-engine Beechcraft on a runway Thursday.
