BEIRUT — Red Cross workers evacuated 103 wounded Palestinians from Beirut’s two largest refugee camps today under a cease-fire that ended a monthlong assault by Lebanese Shia Muslims trying to dislodge the guerrillas.
The evacuation of wounded took place at the shell-shattered Borj el Brajne camp, just north of Beirut Airport, and the nearby Chatilla camp. Two convoys of 16 ambulances brought 45 wounded, most of them men, out of Borj el Brajne. Another 58 casualties, including four children, were evacuated from Chatilla.
