NEW YORK — Tom Kite and Lanny Wadkins will return as the United States’ team for the 23rd World Cup Golf Championship this fall, chairman Howard L. Clark of the International Golf Assn. announced.
The World Cup, with teams from 52 nations, is scheduled Nov. 18-24 in La Quinta, Calif.
Kite and Wadkins placed 12th in the team competition last year in Rome.
“On the flight back from Italy last year, Tom and Lanny were so disappointed that they came to us and said, ‘We want to win the World Cup for the United States, so please give us a chance again in the 1985 tournament.’
