A 38-year-old Santee woman was arrested Wednesday in the slaying of her 19-year-old son, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Deputies found Steven G. Carter, a steel worker, lying on the living room floor of the family’s home on Maple Tree Road About 8 a.m. Wednesday with a gunshot wound in the head. He was pronounced dead at Grossmont Hospital, the spokesman said.
His mother, Claire Doolen, a security guard, was taken into custody at the house without incident, the spokesman said.
