After 31 years in Inglewood, the state Board of Equalization has moved its South Bay headquarters to Torrance. The office is at 690 W. Knox St., Suite 200.
The agency, which is responsible for collecting taxes from businesses, decided to relocate because many of the larger firms in the South Bay are located in Torrance and its neighboring communities, according to a board spokesman.
The spokesman also said the board believes the new location will be more convenient for new businesses. The majority of new South Bay businesses in recent years have located in the Torrance and Carson areas, he said.
