White House Intruder Gets 1-Year Probation

WASHINGTON — A Denver meter reader accused of slipping into the White House during President Reagan’s inauguration ceremonies pleaded guilty today to unlawful entry.
Robert Latta, 45, was placed on one-year supervised probation by Superior Court Judge Paul McArdle. Latta, who followed a Marine band into the mansion and wandered around for about 15 minutes before being spotted, will serve the sentence in Denver.
