If Lasorda Can’t Find a Place for Von Hayes, Perhaps Dodgers Can
In a recent game against the Phillies, hot-hitting Von Hayes hit a game-winning homer to beat the Dodgers. Later, when asked if he could use Hayes, Tommy Lasorda, in his infinite wisdom, said: “Where would he play?” How about player-manager for starters? Lasorda’s remark shows us two things: 1) he has a knack for saying stupid things, and 2) he doesn’t know what he’s doing which would explain why he has a different lineup every day. The Dodgers front office can do the whole city of Los Angeles a real service by firing Tommy Lasorda.
