TV Show Drops Anita Bryant
Associated Press
ATLANTA — Anita Bryant, who sparked controversy with her outspoken opposition to a Miami gay rights ordinance, has been dropped from a local television show after one appearance.
Bryant was taken off “PM Atlanta” because of negative reaction from viewers, WAGA-TV General Manager Paul Raymon said last week.
Bryant lost her job as spokeswoman for Florida orange juice in the 1970s amid her successful campaign to repeal a Miami gay rights ordinance.
Bryant’s second “PM Atlanta” segment, already taped, will not be used, he said.
