One person was killed and two others hospitalized after being struck by a southbound pickup truck while crossing Mission Boulevard near Missouri Street at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police said. Evelyn B. Hanggi, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene by Life Flight paramedics while the two others, Robert Rorden and his wife, Charlotte, were taken to Mission Bay Hospital. Rorden, 58, suffered a fractured hip and his wife, 49, sustained head injuries in the collision, said hospital spokeswoman Corenne Garrison. Both are reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle, Ross D. Blomgren, was not injured. No charges have been filed against Blomgren, said police spokesman Ralph Priem, but the accident is still under investigation.
