Ed Fountain Jr. Heads Lumber Distributors
Ed Fountain Jr. of Ed Fountain Lumber Co., Los Angeles, has been elected president of the Lumber Assn. of Southern California, a group made up of both retail and wholesale lumber distributors.
E. L. Newkirk of Chandler Lumber Co. is first vice president and will be the chairman of the association’s annual conference in Palm Springs, usually attended by about 300 lumbermen.
Phil Butterfield of International Forest Products, Chino, is second vice president, R. E. Hawthorne of Northridge Lumber Co. is treasurer, and Martyn Temple of Weyerhaeuser Co. is secretary.
Each officer is also chairman of a standing committee: Newkirk, communications; Butterfield, wood promotion; Hawthorne, legislation, and Temple, education.
