Local News in Brief : Freeway Hit-Run Victim Identified

A woman who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on the Hollywood Freeway as she was walking across traffic lanes to reach a call box was identified Friday by the county coroner’s office as Lydia Elizabeth Autiero, 46, of Chatsworth.
California Highway Patrol investigators were looking for motorists who may have seen a vehicle hit the woman at 6:20 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Oxnard Street in North Hollywood. Officers said the woman had tried to walk to the emergency phone after her car was disabled with a flat tire.
