Lawrence H. Panitz has been appointed senior vice president and chief administrative officer of ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Costa Mesa. Panitz joins ICN from Revlon Inc. of New York City, where he served as vice president and assistant general counsel. ICN specializes in the development, manufacture and sale of pharmaceutical and chemical products and services in the health care field.
Plaza Communications Inc. of Newport Beach has appointed Gail Egbert to the position of circulation director of the firm’s two monthly magazines, Registered Representative and Personal Investor, which is schedule for debut in March. Egbert joins Plaza after 13 years in circulation and financial management with Reader’s Digest.
Richard A. Donahue, 40, has been named vice president of English & Associates Inc., a Mission Viejo company specializing in settlement annuity consulty in the insurance field. Donahue, who formerly was vice president of Associated Aviation Underwriters, will be based at the company’s San Francisco area office.
At FileNet Corp. in Costa Mesa, Mark S. St. Clare has been appointed vice president of finance and chief financial officer. Before joining FileNet, St. Clare held similar positions for Alpha Microsystems.
Directors of the Newport Center Assn. have elected Richard H. Marowitz president for 1985. Marowitz is the owner of Newport Children’s Bootery in Fashion Island has past presidnet of the Fashion Island Merchants’ Assn.
Mario L. Gardea is the new national sales manager at CIE Systems Inc. in Irvine. In that position, Gardea will direct national sales efforts for CIE, which is a subsidiary of C. Itoh Electronics Inc. of Los Angeles. The companies are suppliers of office automation and computer-related equipment.
