No. 1 Chapman Defeats Biola, 62-36
The Chapman College women’s basketball team held Biola to 15 points in the second half to win their nonconference game, 62-36, Saturday at the Hutton Sports Center.
The Panthers (18-2), ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division 2, are also the nation’s leaders on defense, allowing an average of 46.8 points per game. Susan Bergendahl led Chapman with 18 points, Melissa Firpo had 13 and DeLisa Carter added 11 points and 9 rebounds. Chapman led at halftime, 35-21.
Biola (4-12) was paced by Becky Miller’s 16 points.
