49er Women Defeat ASU as Brown Has 35

Sophomore Cindy Brown, a 6-2 center from Portland, Ore., scored 35 points, making 14 of 24 field-goal attempts and 7 of 8 free throws to lead Cal State Long Beach to a 95-78 win over Arizona State Saturday in a Western Collegiate Athletic Assn. game at Tempe, Ariz.
Brown also had 12 rebounds, 8 steals, 5 assits and 4 blocked shots in helping the No. 3 ranked 49ers improve their overall record to 14-1 and their conference mark to 4-0. Arizona St. is 8-9 and 0-4.
