Welk Village to Expand Guest Inn

Plans for the $7.5-million expansion of Lawrence Welk Village in Escondido have been completed by Hendrick & Mock Architects, San Diego, and site preparation and grading for the first new structure an eight-unit hotel, are under way.

With next summer’s completion of two inn additions, of 36 and 32 units, 76 overnight-guest accommodations will be available in two-and three-story structures adjacent to the swimming pool as well as other amenities. The development program will also include an expanded restaurant, lobby area, village shopping center, a new administrative building and golf pro shop.
