LOS ANGELES COUNTY - News from Jan. 27, 1985

Hilton Hotels Corp., based in Beverly Hills, has named Carl T. Mottek president of its hotels division. He’ll be replacing William H. Edwards, who was named a corporate vice chairman.

Mottek has been senior vice president of Hilton’s southern regional division in Atlanta. The promotion is effective May 1.

Los Angeles-based Security Pacific National Bank said it made the following appointments: Colin M. Forkner, executive vice president of Security Pacific Credit Corp.; Frank Abraham, senior vice president of the California banking system; Pauline G. Fraser, senior vice president of the world corporate group.

Daniel Chiafair has been named vice president-marketing at Ritter/Geller Communications Inc., Santa Monica.

Lyle D. Harbin has been appointed vice president-marketing of View Engineering, Simi Valley.

Teleflora Inc., Los Angeles, has appointed Hal Goldberg senior vice president-marketing.

John J.G. Batiste has been named vice president in the Encino office of Israel-based Bank Leumi.

Stephen S. Deutsch has been named vice president and head of production for SLM Inc., Beverly Hills, subsidiary of New Century, Century City.

CALIFORNIA

Brian R. Franklin has been named publisher of Integrated Circuits Magazine, a Hearst Corp. publication. He will remain in Santa Clara, where New York-based Hearst recently expanded its regional offices.

NATION

Former Rep. Barber B. Conable Jr. (R-N.Y.) has been elected a director of Pfizer Inc., New York.
